TL;DR:
- "Deliverable" emails are ready for your outreach.
- "Catch-all-safe" emails are safe catch-all emails and can be sent to, but with a slightly higher risk.
- "Catch-all-not-safe" emails are invalidated catch-all emails - don't send an email to them.
- "Undeliverable" emails should be avoided and not used for outreach.
Deliverable Emails
- Average Bounce Rate: Around 1.5%
- Should You Send an Email? 100%!
A "Deliverable" status means the email address is active and capable of receiving emails. These are your most reliable contacts for outreach, with the lowest bounce risk.
Catch-all-safe Emails
- Average Bounce Rate: Around 3.5%
- Should You Send an Email? Yes!
Domains with catch-all configurations will accept any email sent to them, regardless of whether the specific address (the part before the @) is valid. "Catch-all-safe" emails are those we consider to be safe catch-all emails where we received a positive signal from the catch-all firewall. Even though the email server is set up to accept any emails, we’ve detected activity to infer the email is real. While there’s a bit more risk than with a "Deliverable" status, they are typically safe for sending.
Catch-all-not-safe Emails
- Average Bounce Rate: Around 24%
- Should You Send an Email? Not recommended.
These are catch-alls where we did not receive a digital handshake from the server, and did not spotted any activity. This means that during our verification process, even if the email doesn’t actually exist, the server will say "Yes." The bounce rate for these is significantly elevated, so proceed carefully.
Undeliverable Emails
- Should You Send an Email? No.
A "Undeliverable" status means the email address doesn’t exist. It could be a typo, the domain might no longer exist, or the email account could have been deleted. Sending to an invalid email will almost certainly result in a bounce, so it’s best to avoid them.
